Reader in Strafford takes Blunt to task in Saturday editorial

This and more from yesterday's Springfield News-Leader:

Rep. Roy Blunt has rarely been held accountable by his supporters in southwest Missouri, and it has made him presumptuous.

This summer he held no town halls, just "events" where he reportedly talked "at" those attending and answered the few permitted questions in broad, rhetorical terms. We understood: he doesn't like to be questioned.

On Aug. 22 in the News-Leader he chided his home-territory newspaper for reporting that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch was "challenging minor points" of a health care claim he'd made to their editorial board. According to Blunt, his only error was mistaking where he got the information in question. Actually, his claim was only half-true at best, yet he continued to tout it and others as egregiously misleading.
